I still remember the first day I walked into Ms. Johnson's classroom. I was nervous about starting high school English. But her warm smile and the way she said, "Welcome! Let's have a great year together," made me feel calm.

Ms. Johnson doesn't just teach from the textbook. She makes English come alive. Last month, we read a short story about a boy and his dog. Instead of just explaining the words, she asked us, "Have you ever loved a pet? How did it feel?" We all started sharing stories. The classroom was full of laughter and even some tears. She showed us how stories connect to our own lives.

Her teaching style is different. She uses games, group discussions, and even short movies to help us understand. When we learned about past tense verbs, she had us play a "time machine" game, telling stories about our childhood. It was so much fun that I forgot I was learning grammar.

The most important thing she taught me is that making mistakes is okay. Once, I was very embarrassed because I pronounced a word wrongly in class. Instead of correcting me sharply, she smiled and said, "That was a brave try! Now let's hear the standard pronunciation together." Her classroom is a safe place where everyone feels encouraged to speak.

Ms. Johnson is more than a teacher. She cares about us as people. She remembers our hobbies and asks about our weekends. When I was stressed about a test, she told me, "Do your best, that's always enough." Her belief in me makes me want to work harder.

Now, English class is the highlight of my day. Ms. Johnson has shown me that English is not just a subject full of rules, but a language to share ideas and feelings. She has not only improved my English skills but also given me confidence. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful teacher in my first year of high school.
