In a real classroom, you can instantly ask questions, have discussions with classmates, and feel the teacher's energy. Online, you might just be staring at a screen, which can feel lonely and less engaging. It also requires a lot of self-discipline. Without a teacher watching over you, it's easy to get distracted by your phone, games, or just daydreaming. Technical problems like bad internet can ruin the experience too.
So, how can we make the most of it? I believe the key is balance. Online courses are fantastic for gaining specific skills or learning at your own pace. But for deep discussions, complex subjects, or building strong relationships, traditional classrooms are still very important. The best approach might be a mix of both. Schools could use online tools for some materials and reserve in-person time for activities that really need interaction.
