May 1st is International Labor Day, a special holiday celebrated around the world. It's a day to honor workers and the value of hard work. For students like me, it’s more than just a day off from school—it’s a chance to understand and appreciate the effort behind everything we have.

During this holiday, I saw how hard my parents work. My mom, a teacher, spent her vacation grading papers and preparing lessons. My dad, an engineer, checked project plans even while resting at home. I realized their "break" was still filled with responsibility. It made me think about all the people who keep our society running: bus drivers, shop assistants, cleaners, doctors, and many more. Their labor, often unseen, makes our daily lives smooth and comfortable.

This year, I decided not to just relax. I helped with house chores—cleaning, cooking simple meals, and organizing my room. At first, it felt tiring, but later, I felt proud. I learned that work isn’t just a duty; it brings a sense of achievement. Sweeping the floor made me appreciate the clean home my parents usually provide. Washing dishes taught me patience and care.

Labor Day also reminded me of the importance of balancing work and rest. Everyone needs breaks to recharge, just like we need to work to contribute and grow. As a student, my "labor" is studying. I should approach my homework and projects with the same dedication I saw in my parents. Knowledge is built step by step, through consistent effort.

In our modern world, the meaning of labor is changing. It includes not only physical work but also mental creativity and digital skills. Yet, the core remains the same: using our abilities to create value and help others. This Labor Day, I feel grateful for all workers and inspired to value my own efforts, big or small. True happiness, I believe, comes from both hard work and meaningful rest.
